CUSHCITY.COM ANNOUNCES
BEST NEW AUTHOR FINALISTS
April 19, 2007 - Cushcity.com,
which has the largest selection of African-American products on
line, is sponsoring its second annual 2007 Best New Author Award.
The award will be announced June 1, 2007 and the grand prize is an
all-expense paid 7-day Caribbean cruise with Cushcity staff and
featured authors in September of this year.
The 10 authors who
received the most votes AND book sales during the second phase of
the process, and will move on to the essay submission phase of
the award process, are as follows (in alphabetical order):

The final phase of the award process
is the essay submission phase and each finalist must submit a
500-word essay entitled, "Why I Became a Writer." A
panel of 10 book
clubs will participate in judging the essays, along with
Cushcity.com staff. The book clubs have already been identified and
have accepted the responsibility for judging the essays. The list
of book clubs will be made public after June 1.
The
Cushcity.com Best New Author
Award will be bestowed upon the author receiving the
most winning votes by the panel of book clubs and Cushcity.com
staff. The runner-up will be the author with the second highest
winning votes by the panel and Cushcity.com staff.

New York Times Business Section. The 2007 cruise will showcase
several best-selling authors, including Dwayne Joseph.
