Greetings From National Black Book Festival Headquarters:

We are continuing to work diligently as we celebrate our 9th anniversary this year and the 2016 National Black Book Festival will be the best one yet! We have confirmed entertainment manager and author Mathew Knowles as a featured author for this year's event. Knowles is best known for managing the career of his daughter, Beyonce, and the powerhouse girl group Destiny's Child, and his appearance will be on Saturday, Oct. 29 @ 10:00 a.m.

Actor and author Wendell Pierce is also confirmed as a featured author this year. You may be familiar with Wendell from his appearances in the films, "Selma" and "Waiting to Exhale," and the highly-acclaimed TV shows, "The Wire" and "Suits." This will be Wendell's first year appearing at NBBF and we are honored to have him aboard. Wendell Pierce's appearance will be on Saturday, Oct. 29 @ 2:00 p.m.

Author vendor tables for the 2016 Festival are completely sold out. Over 100 authors will be participating from 25 states.

The Sheraton North Houston will again be the host hotel for out-of-town travelers. Complimentary shuttle service will be provided by NBBF to and from the Sheraton to Fallbrook Church each day. Our discounted room rates are $89 for a room with a king bed and $99 for a room with double beds. Our room block is filling up fast so please do not procrastinate about making your reservations. Access our direct link to NBBF reserved rooms at the Sheraton North here.

General admission to the Festival is FREE, but the four special events are where the networking primarily takes place. Attend all four (reception, two breakfasts, and lunch) for only $85.00 per person. The Full Festival Package and tickets to individual events can be purchased online here: http://www.nationalblackbookfestival.com/eventtickets.htm.

There are a variety of affordable advertising opportunities for authors and publishers who would like to market their books at the 2016 NBBF. Options start as low as $49.00. Advertising options are indicated online here: http://www.nationalblackbookfestival.com/advertising.htm

If you are a participating author, you should have already begun marketing your presence at the 2016 Festival via your social media networks. Use the NBBF logo (save and download from this edition) to invite your network to the event and let readers know you will be in the house. Offer incentives for them to meet you there such as a free book drawing, customized bookmarks, or simply the opportunity to meet you face-to-face. The hashtag for this year's event is #nbbf2016.
