Calendar Bob Marley (1945-1981) created some of the most exciting music ever to come out of the Caribbean. At the same time, he used his visibility as a reggae star to advocate peace, human rights, and the end of oppression. Marley stressed self-determination over victimhood and interracial harmony rather than violence in the name of change.
