CUSHCITY.COM TEAMS WITH HOUSTON TECHNOLOGY CENTER
TO HOST E-PROFITS CONFERENCE

HOUSTON, Tex. -- Cushcity.com, the most highly trafficked African-American e-commerce site in cyberspace, has joined with the Houston Technology Center to host a one-day conference called "E-Commerce At A Profit" on Sept. 14, 2001 at The Power Center in Houston, Tex. The event will focus on the nuts and bolts of building and running a successful e-commerce enterprise.

A Houston-based firm, Cushcity.com touts the world’s largest selection of African-American products on the Internet. The Houston Technology Center is the premiere clearinghouse for technology information in Houston and a local catalyst for accelerated growth among emerging technology companies.

The conference features keynote speakers Bob Beauchamp, CEO of BMC Software; George Fraser, motivational speaker and author of Success Runs in Our Race; and Gwen Richardson, Co-founder of Cushcity.com.

The conference brings together founders of some of the most successful e-commerce companies, both locally and nationally, as well as others in related industries. David F. Gow, CEO of Ashford.com; Russell Caper, CEO of eRealty.com; and Jon Nordmark, co-founder of Ebags.com will all serve as presenters at the conference. Other conference participants include Dennis Murphree, President of Murphree Venture Partners; Bernard Beale, COO of Cynet, Inc.; Lloyd Bentsen III, Chairman of Triad Ventures; and Steve Currall of the Rice University Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship.

"Until now, selling online has been somewhat of a mystery for many entrepreneurs and aspiring business owners," said Willie A. Richardson, President and CEO of Cushcity.com. "This conference will provide the necessary information for etailers to be successful."

This is the first of a series of five similar conferences hosted by Cushcity.com. Conferences will also be held next year in Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Chicago and New York. The U.S. Postal Service is the major government sponsor for the conferences. Corporate sponsors include AOL Time Warner, AT&T, Dynegy, Continental Airlines and Palmetto Partners.

The conferences target African-American professionals, but anyone interested in learning about the intricacies of e-commerce can attend. All conferences are open to the public and the registration fee is $99.00 for the Houston conference. The Power Center is located at 12401 S. Post Oak Road, at the S. Main Street intersection in Houston.
